"Pants on Fire"
An abstract image of fire in motion, is derived from Rivera’s mothers pants set ablaze. Their mother was abusive and after accessing her clothes Rivera wanted to show beauty from darkness.
This image is pieced together by individual film pieces. This is trying to tell the story on how Rivera felt coming home after being strangled by their significant other at that time.
This images are from Rivera’s eating disorder which was forced upon them from their mother. The meat that spells “EAT” is supposed to look appetizing and disgusting as if this food is just something you are forced to do.
This image is from mixed media its purpose is to show how at the time Rivera felt like being on mood stabilizers destroyed themselves and felt split between being who they are or who everyone wanted them to be.
